W dniach 17-19 maja, dla słuchaczy 40 edycji programu Executive MBA, odbyła się sesja prowadzona przez wykładowcę Central Connecticut State University dr Drew Harrisa. Tematem sesji było “Organizing and Managing for Creativity and Innovation”. Sesja wypadła znakomicie i zebrała doskonałe opinie wśród słuchaczy.

O kursie:
Creativity drives the future. It is instrumental to all art, invention, innovation. Yet, most people have experienced a bias against creativity originating in expressions like “be practical”, “Find the right answer”, “Your job is not to ask why; your job is to get it done”, “There is a right way and wrong way…” Innovation harnesses creativity to find solutions or to produce value. This course invites participants to rediscover or expand their personal creativity and to understand what research says about creating contexts (Organizations) that support creativity and innovation.
Learning Objectives (At the end of this course, students will be able to):
– Design and implement a program of activities that will increase personal creativity
– Identify the elements of a context (a setting, environment, culture, sets of resources) that will stimulate creativity for those working in the environment.
– Construct questions/problems that invite creative, inventive answers/solutions.
– Formulate strategies for directing creativity to solve problems and add value (Innovate).

Dr. Drew Harris leads the entrepreneurship program at Central Ct State University and serves as Director to the Connecticut Consortia of Entrepreneurial Educators (CCEE), a division of the Entrepreneurship Foundation. Early in his career, he started several businesses in the arts, construction, housing, and food. After becoming an information systems specialist, Dr. Harris joined Arthur Young & Company, where he created a consulting methodology for small and medium sized businesses that became a national standard for AY. Later he joined a VC-backed firm as Director of Information Systems and Technology where he transformed back-office transaction processing systems into customer-supporting information systems, leading to improvements in sales and gross margins. Upon earning his Ph.D. in Management at New York University, Dr. Harris began an academic career characterized by innovation. He has won awards for innovative teaching and invention of experiential exercises. Following his leadership, the CCEE has created a unique and revolutionary collaborative course that involve multiple institutions of higher education sharing course time and curriculum across institutional boundaries in a deeply experiential setting; this may prove to be a transformational model for specialized skill courses. Dr. Harris is also a musician and band leader having founded/co-founded seven bands, one of which continues after thirty-five years; he has been a leader in introducing and promoting Balkan and Roma brass band music to the United States.
